I’m thinking that being Jeffrey and being this amazing and fabulous is becoming a hindrance to my acquiring a new job. The fact that I’m in my mid 50’s shouldn’t weigh on their decision at all! I certainly don’t look like someone who should be put out to pasture and lord knows I’ve met a few bitchy cows in my life! I do everything I know to do! I look dress the part, and when I arrive at my destination, We just waltz into the room, meet the person whom I’m interviewing with a friendly smile and a nice handshake and sit where they point! And I trudge on with the interview smiling and answering all the questions.
Why is it that most people, both guys and girls, who become bosses lose their sense of style? I mean, come on!! I sit there distracted by their office decorations thinking all the while that the entire décor is offending all of my 4 senses. Most of the offices I sat in to interview were done in early Sears and I mean the softer side too! Too many earth tones and you’ll want to start tunneling your way out! Of course, I dressed the part always wanted to put my best foot forward looking great! My mantra for men’s pants are “NO FRONTAL PLEATS … EVER!!!!” The best advice I ever received!
But I digress. Why aren’t I being called back for a second interviews? Why are those harpies in the waiting room getting the jobs over me! I bring experience and organizational skills! They only bring their tah-tahs and tight outfits! But not to worry … Jeffrey will prevail! I will find a way to shine, like the glimmering star in the universe of me! Nike be damned, I CAN do it!
